By staking over 12 million HNTs, the majority of the community members voted in favour of the move. A two-thirds majority was required for a vote to migrate the network to pass. To participate in the on-chain vote, participants staked the helium token (HNT). 81.41 per cent voted in favour of migration in the early Asian hours. The HIP 70 proposal was voted on early Thursday morning. The proposal was made public earlier on August 30. According to the proposal,"The proposed changes in HIP 70 do not change the fundamentals of the Helium Network or HNT but provide several benefits to the Helium Network, including more HNT available to subDAO reward pools, more consistent mining, more reliable data transfer, more utility for HNT and subDAO tokens, and more ecosystem support."The announcement comes after over 6,000 community members voted in favour of the Helium Improvement Proposal (HIP). It will also connect the world's largest decentralised wireless network with the fastest-growing crypto ecosystem. Its goal is to reduce reliance on internal blockchain operations and expand its ecosystem on Solana. The proposal confirms the migration of Helium's Proof-of-Coverage algorithm and data transfer accounting to Oracles. Helium's own purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain will be linked to the Solana blockchain with this proposal. The Helium Foundation made the announcement on Thursday. BTW, then I was told I needed to put the antenna up higher w/ a higher DBI, so I got a 5.8 DBI and installed it on my roof, I grounded and everything, another $100 spent, I got 2 more witnessed and began witnessing another beacon, TODAY I WAKE UP, check my rewards and 0 beacons witnessed, HOW? I am hopeful and hesitatingly excited about this merge w/ Solana and the phones, We'll see. They HAVE TO improve the system, higher rewards for miners, OR ELSE THEY WILL LOOSE MINERS(which is the treasure of this industry). 6months later I receive my Bobcat 300, excited, my friend got one as well, I plug it in inside of my house by a large, tall window, I witness 1 beacon (SOMETIMES) and I get witnessed 1-2 p/week, HNT payouts are atrocious, a shame really.
I paid $500 for my Bobcat 300 back when people were making $4 p/day of passive income, they were back logged in the factories so I had to wait 6 months due to Hopefully the Helium team will take notice to all these awful reviews of their app and do something about it. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t do anything and there is no one to contact for support.
I really like helium mining and support helium but this app has been a nightmare. Every time I try to reassert my location it says “There was an error constructing the assert location transaction.” On top of that it wants me to pay for the app screwing up and not asserting my location where I told it to in the first place. Even more frustrating is when i first asserted my miner location I put the pin over my house, clicked to confirm and when it went through it ended up changing my location two streets over from where my house is and it WILL NOT let me change it. Try again tomorrow” despite having NEVER used it. It seems like it would be useful but ever since I downloaded the app it has ALWAYS said “You have run out of sessions for today. Discovery mode and Asserting location doesn’t work
